Back to the Manger

Sunday night, the children's choir did a fantabulous job presenting their Christmas Musical 'Back to the Manger'
It was a take off on the Back to the Future movies where a group of church kids go back in time to various time periods including the birth of Jesus.
Micah played the part of Jackson who ends up being responsible for accidentally sending the group of kids back in time by leaning on the time machine.
Speaking of which, the time machine was AWESOME and complete with lights, sounds, and even smoke!

Big thanks to our videographers high up in the balcony.
Thanks for helping us capture the memories!
Lots of helping hands made the too cute for words costumes!

Kenzie was the perfect Mary and never took her eyes off of baby Jesus.

The Manger Boys knew how to rock out the 90's better than the Back Street Boys!

Although 'Mr. Olson' looks less than thrilled here, he did a great job as the church custodian and surprised us all with his dance moves.

Here's the gang ready for the show!

Even a few of the teenagers got in on the act.
Isaac rocked the 70's with his disco moves!

Here's a view of the smoke effects.

We found this cute snowman holding a basket to give to Mrs. Kitty for helping direct the play.
We thought about filling the basket with candy but then decided to fill it with what Mrs. Kitty likes best...JEWELRY!
Each child picked out their very own blingy gift for Mrs. Kitty.

The cast and crew party afterwards was fun for all. Savanna found baby Jayce to love on.
I love this last one of Micah threatening Colby and Aaron if they didn't smile for the picture.
Ahh... I have trained him well.
Awesome performance, children's choir!
Thanks for taking us all 'Back to the Manger' and helping us remember what this season is all about!

Redneck Parade

Brian must really love Mrs. Sherry to willingly agree to wear her Alabama Santa hat!

I love the signs that the youth made for their float!

You know you're in the country when...you can ride barefoot in a parade!

We didn't make it too far on the regular rode before the inflatable birthday cake became air born!
Bro Brad and Bro Phil volunteered to ride in the flatbed all the way back to the church to hold onto baby Jesus' birthday cake.

We laughed and laughed at Bro. Phil grimacing as the wind blew his hair out of place. I don't know which was funnier, watching him react to the wind or watching his family in the van react to him!

Three Little Monkeys Jumping On The Bed

Do you ever find yourself doing something you know is wrong?
For example, allowing your child and his cousins to JUMP on a bed.
A bed in your MOTHER'S house.
An activity that we would never normally allow.
An activity that our children know is off limits.
An activity that could be quite dangerous at best.
~
But because they are having so much fun and are so darn cute, you grab your camera instead of your good sense!
Well, as you can see, I am guilty of throwing all good parenting skills out the window!
But these three monkeys were just having such a good time and the giggles were contagious to the point that I just couldn't resist.

The truth is...I would do it again in a heartbeat!

Another Addict

There are a lot of things that you hope to pass on to your children, but becoming an official coffee addict at 8 years old was not on the top of our list.
However~ he asked, we gave, he LOVED!
Now for all you haters out there who will tell me that this may stunt his growth, can I just tell you my 'little' 6ft. 4in. tall brother did the same thing at the same age.
Needless to say, I am more worried about him drinking MY portion of coffee than it having a negative affect on his stature.

Santa and Mall Fun

It has become a bit of a tradition the past few years to see Santa the day after Thanksgiving.
Yes~ that means we went to the mall on Black Friday with all the other crazies out there, but the interesting thing is, there is actually NOBODY waiting to see Santa!
So yipee for no lines!
I guess everyone else is waiting in line for electronics and such.
Anywho... on our way to see Santa, we also found a fun train and a gator.
Although my kids have pretty much outgrown these things, they GLADLY volunteer to help with Tyson and if the truth be told, they probably have as much fun as he does.
And I am very proud to report that there were NO TEARS this year when Tyson saw the 'big guy'! Now his eyes were as big as saucers and I'm pretty sure if I had taken his pulse it would have been off the charts, but... NO TEARS!!!
Aunt Beth was sweet to give Savanna and Micah credit for helping Tyson face Santa without tears, but I think the gummi bears that I bribed him with helped a little too!
