4th of July

We celebrated the fourth of July with our church family at our annual Bikes, Trikes, and Wagons Patriotic Parade. All the kids brought their bikes and wagons to the church to decorate.
Carmen wasn't too sure if she wanted to be in the parade. Check out that bottom lip!

YUMMERS!
Our King and Queen of the parade!

So glad to have Brian back on this side of the planet!

We also enjoyed a delicious BBQ dinner with family at my mom's house.
The hat was just a wee bit too big for Tyson!

So proud to be an American and incredibly thankful for the men and women you have given sacrificially for our freedoms. God Bless America!

Happy Birthday Brian!

Happy Birthday to my favorite person on the planet!
We spent the day on the river with wonderful friends enjoying a beautiful summer day.
Feels strange to go to the RIVER and not the BEACH!
Boo to the oil spill!

My friends had fun making fun of me trying to adjust to the differences between the river and the beach. Not sure quite what to think about the mud?! They tried to convince me that people pay good money for mud baths!

Honestly, we had a blast and have enjoyed the first half of Brian's birthday.

I am VERY thankful for the day he was born!!!

Now it's time to get cleaned up for our double date at Outback tonight!

Welcome Home Daddy!

Brian recently spent 10 days in Israel. When we told the kids he would be going to the Holy Land, Micah said "That's like Disney World for Daddy!" I couldn't have said it better myself!
We communicated through Skype while he was there and the kids thought is was AWESOME.

The people at the airport probably thought we were welcoming Daddy home from war instead of a 10 day trip. We were just a tiny bit excited to say the least! He had the trip of a lifetime and I can't wait to share some pictures and stories as soon as I can catch my breath from all the Summer Children's Ministries we have going on right now.

Camp Kidventure Day 5

Our last day of Camp Kidventure was spent at the Lathan's house for a day of water play and fishing fun. The kids spent the morning rotating from water games to the water slide to fishing. This was the kids favorite day by far!

Big thanks to all the faithful men from our church who gave of their time to come help the children fish.

We were supposed to have a watermelon seed spitting contest, but I accidentally bought the seedless watermelons. Shaving cream relay was messy fun!

Stand Strong!

Water balloon toss!

Water Balloon Hot Potato
Micah was having a hard time catching a fish so he remembered that his Daddy taught him to make this crazy fish face for good luck :)
Very thankful for our teens who helped make this day so fun and who weren't afraid to get wet.
Corn dogs and ice cream sandwiches for all!

Our winners for the biggest fish!
