Deacons Dinner

We invited the staff and deacons over for our Annual Christmas Party last Friday night.

Who knew our little breakfast nook table would provide seating for SIX if necessary?

We were all surprised and thrilled when Archie revealed what he had made for EVERY deacon and staff member. He has an incredible talent and ability to do woodworking. The picture does not do it justice! This woodcarving of John 3:16 takes an incredible amount of time and patience, not to mention skill! It takes him approximately 25-30 hours to make just one of these ~ and he has made over a dozen for the deacons and staff alone! What a precious gift to always treasure.

Toby tried to seize the moment and sneak inside every time the door opened during the night. I am sure he could smell all the yummy food that everyone brought for the covered dish dinner. Savanna was great about chasing him down and putting him back outside.

I know some of you think it is sinful and terrible that we make our dogs stay outdoors. But I have issues with germs and my philosophy is 'if you don't use toilet paper or wear underwear, you need to stay OUTSIDE!' For the record, I LOVE dogs ~ I just hate germs and I have seen one too many of those hidden germ shows on Dateline where they swab the handrail of an escalator or something. Anyway, moving on...

We had a wonderful night of food and fellowship. We feel incredibly thankful for all of our partners in ministry. It is an honor to serve the Lord with such a wonderful group of people by your side.
