Downtown Disney, Boardwalk, & Fort Wilderness

Savanna looks like a tiny ant under the ginormous Pop Century sign.

We woke up the next morning and had fun feeding the ducks right outside our door. Probably each day we were there we saw at least a dozen bunnies and ducks right ouside of our room. How fun is that?

We explored some areas of the hotel we hadn't seen yet.

Lady and the Tramp is my all time favorite Disney movie, but it gets very little attention in any of the parks or parades. I was so excited to find their 4 story high statues though!

The hotel is divided into 5 different areas by decades from the 1950's to the 1970's.

We found these showcases with icon toys from the different eras. I swear they must have stocked it with stuff from some of my old garage sales. I seriously had most of this stuff! Such a fun walk down memory lane. You should have heard us trying to explain to the kids what stuff was ~ especially electronic stuff.

We then headed over to Downtown Disney and couldn't resist trying on some silly hats.

We promised the kids that they could have candy for lunch. Yep. You read that right ~ CANDY for LUNCH! I am pretty sure that this was their favorite meal of the trip and they will never forget it!

We LOVE us some Goofy's Candy Company!

You get to custom order your candy and choose from apples, pretzels, fudge cookies, or Mickey shaped marshmellow treats. Then you pick what type of chocolate you want it dipped in and what kind of candy you want it rolled in!

HEAVEN!

How adorable are these rice crispy cakes?

We found a great table in front of the birds from the Rainforest Cafe and enjoyed what the children have titled "The Best Lunch EVER!"

Savanna had a fudge cookie dipped in oreo crumbles with white chocolate drizzles.

Micah picked a choclate, caramel, and marshmellow apple.

We split a rice crispy treat dipped in butterfinger crumbles with white chocolate.

None of us were able to finish our treats in one sitting, but that's what doggie bags are for.

We visited all our favorite shops at downtown Disney like World of Disney. We found a few new fun stops like this Magic Store where they demonstrated a few cool tricks for us.

Micah couldn't resist stopping at lego land to admire their creations.

So after our nutritious lunch,
we went to the Disney Boardwalk area to explore and look for the pedal boats.

We found them docked behind the beautiful Dolphin and Swan Hotels.
After you enjoy this sweet picture of our little family, I have to share a secret with you. Looks are very decieving. Doesn't the water just look beautiful? Well...it is NOT! Once we got out in the middle of the water, I took a good look down and thought I was going to have a full blown fit right there! The little pedal boat man explained that because it is a man made lake, there is all kinds of funky stuff growing in it that they can not control. Of course I kept thinking lovely thougts about how there could be gators or some other monster in there! Take my word it was awful! I just kept telling myself to not look down, look at the beautiful scenery, look at my children's smiling faces, enjoy this time with my family, and above all else....do not tip the boat over!

We scoped out a perfect spot for some R&R along the beach.
Can you spy the duck enjoying the pool too?
Brian stayed in the hammock while I took the kids over to try out the water slide and water fall.
We got dried up and cleaned up then headed over to Fort Wilderness for dinner.
We toured their beautiful stables and petting zoo.

We played a little tetherball and then waited for the bingo games to begin.

The final round of Bingo was the "B-O challenge".
You have to get all the B's and all the O's called on your card.
The winner is the first to yell out "I HAVE B-O!"
Savanna was dangerously close to winning.
After bingo came the smores and hot dog roast along with the Chip and Dale Sing Along.

We left after Chip and Dale came to greet us. We didn't have it in us to stay for the movie. I guess we had squeezed just about as much fun into one day as is possible.
