Epcot

On Sunday we had a time of family worship and devotion in our hotel room. Then we started our Day at Epcot by immediately heading over to 'Soarin' to avoid the inevitable long lines later in the day. This is probably my favorite ride at Disney!

We then jumped right on the little boats for 'Living with the Land'. I don't think we have ever done this one with our kids, but I remember being fascinated as a kid by the way they grow vegetables using bydoponics.
The Character Spot at Disney is a great place to get signatures and pictures made without such a long line. I think it is because many families with young children opt out of Epcot thinking there is nothing there for the kiddies. We found PLENTY to keep us entertained though!

Donald put on a pretty good show for us!
I love it when the characters actually get into character.

I think this was the first time I ever rode Spaceship Earth ~ you know, the one inside the big ball. It was pretty cool and Savanna and I even got a futuristic picture of ourselves done. Kind of reminded me of the Jetson's car.

Micah kept himself entertained while we were in line by doing his stunts and acrobatics on the rails.
Then we all got to be real stunt dummies on Test Track.
Brian and Micah were the only ones interested in doing Mission Space. Savanna and I decided to head over to the aquarium and ride the Nemo ride while we waited on our astronaut boys to catch up.

I was a little sad that there was actually a cast member outside of Figment trying to encourage people to even ride it. That was always one of my favorites as a kid. I hope that they don't close it down due to lack of popularity. We all love that little purple dragon!
Then we headed on to the World Showcase.
We were trying to make it halway around the world by lunch so Brian wouldn't miss too much. The Pastor's Conference started this same afternoon, so the plan was for him to go back to the hotel after a late lunch to clean up and head on to the conference.
He made a quick phone call in one of the United Kingdom phone booths ~ actually, he just stepped in there for the photo op, but it turns out it is a working phone!
Just a quick pic in front of the Eiffel Tower in France.

Love that view over the Lagoon!

We found Belle in France, which I guess makes good sense. I can vividly remember 3 year old Savanna singing the beginning of Beaut and the Beast....
"Bonjour, bonjour, bonjour, bonjour, bonjour!"
Micah looked for a genie in the lamp he found in Morocco while Savanna found a beautiful beaded headdress.

We were excited when we made it to Japan.
Japan =Lunch!
The kids were determined to give it a go with their chopsticks, but that didn't last very long. We were much too hungry!

The was an especially fun walk down memory lane for us. We ate here on our honeymoon, the night before we left on a cruise. Hard to believe that was almost 14 years ago though!

Love watching the 'show' while our food was prepared in front of us.

Although the rest of us had full, satisfied bellies after lunch, Micah thought he might still have room for some shrimp flavored chips. Is there ANYTHING this boy won't eat?!?
Not a lot of quotes outside of the Bible really capture my attention, but I found this one by Walt Disney on the wall of the American building and just had to take a picture. I think that would be cool on a school wallWe were able to hunt down Savanna's favorite princess, Snow White, in Germany.
We also found some cool drums, hat, and acrobats in China.

We needed these Sombraros this day ~ it was HOT!!!

Didn't realize Micah pretended to pick the troll's nose until I was scrolling through the pictures later...very classy!
We made it all the way around the world!
We spent the late afternoon exploring INSIDE at the WELL AIR CONDITIONED hands on activities in the Innovations Hands On Fun areas. We even got to take home these frogs we created and decorated at the booth set up by Velcro. Lots of fun~ wish I could buy this stuff for projects at church.

We ended the day by heading back to the hotel for a nice dip in the pool.
Check out the beautiful sky we captured on our way!
Count it as another 'blessing!'
