Nerds R Us

For Christmas, we decided to get a group picture of the grandkids and great-grandkids for my grandparents. Again, going back to the idea of "What in the world do you get a 90 year old?"
Thankfully, Beth and Angela were completely in agreement and were very happy hearted about wearing the color coordinated clothes and everything. Eric and Ty were a little harder to convince, but with a little sweet talking and a few threats ~ we managed to get the whole "Griswald" family out on the beach for what my brother calls the "NERDIEST IDEA I'VE EVER HAD." He is convinced that anyone who wears matching clothes and gets their family picture on the beach is a certifiable nerd.
(Although, he now has a large beach picture hanging above his fireplace ~ LOL!!!)
I had forgotten how hard it was to get pictures of babies though!
Maddox was determined to roll down the sand dune and tried several times while we were attempting to get the picture. One time he kept on and kept on rolling until he was nearly
in the water! Eric had to go running after him so he wouldn't get wet. We finally got him to sit still but he made his best "stink face" for all of the pictures.
Tyson, on the other hand, started off the photo session SCREAMING in protest. NOTHING would calm him down, until Ty scooped him up and put him on his shoulders. Then he was just as happy as a clam the rest of the time. Who would have guessed that Ty would be the one to save the day for our "nerd" picture?!
The cutest cousins I know ~ fo sho!
Thank you, Ashleigh, for being our honorary photographer for the day!
We owe you one!
My grandparents LOVED the pictures. Not only did we have several of them framed, but we had a tie made for Papa with the picture of the great-grandkids and a purse made for Meme with the picture of the entire group. They have been so cute toting their new treasures around so they can show off to their friends.
I guess it is so true what the Bible says,
"Grandchildren are the crown of old men." Proverbs 17:6

  1. Oh so cute! Your description of Ty's reaction cracked me up because Lisa was the same way a few years ago when my mom had us do a family shot on the beach! Ha!
